So I figured I better document yesterday!
At 11:00 am I started having horrible, painful contractions. They started in my back and wrapped all the way around to my stomach... and my stomach would get hard as a rock! It hurt so bad! I started timing them and they were 3-5 minutes about for 3 hours! I was trying to hold off going to the hospital as long as possible....because I know with your first one it can take a very long time! So I wanted to stay home and be comfortable. Well after 3 hours, at 2:00pm I called Billy and told him he needed to come home and be here because I wasn't sure how much longer I could take this! So he came home and they never went away they stayed 3-5 minutes apart and got stronger and more painful! So we called our doctor at 4:00 PM and they told us to head to the hospital right away!
So we checked into the hospital and they monitored my contractions and they were 3-5 minutes apart and super painful! They Hooked me up to an iv and they admitted me. But according to my chart I am not due till april 29th... so I'm only 36 weeks
(even though my doctor personally told me my dates are most likely wrong! and Brody has been measuring april 19th the entire time! But they never changed my due date on my chart)
So I am only 36 weeks and that makes them nervous! So they said we want to give you medicine to make the contractions stop! I was so frustrated becasue I felt like if they had fixed my due date then this doctor would know my baby is probably 37 or 38 weeks along! So they gave me medicine to stop them but my contractions still kept coming 3-5 minutes consistently till about 9:00 Pm last night! So the doctor was like " maybe you are brewing to have a baby tonight!! " but she kept checking me and I never dialated past a 1 and 70% efaced. So eventually the pain medicine started to ware off and even though I was still having consistent contractions... they weren't painful anymore. SO I was sent home at 10:00 last night!
I wasn't dissapointed...I just figured it wasn't his time to come. But I was a little frustrated because she told me if I were 37 weeks she would have given me pitossin and an epidural and we might have our baby right now... And I know I am further along than 36 weeks!
Either way I'm sure my contractions will start up again and if so I'll be back there again having a baby! I'm glad I got a dry run at the hospital. I now know what to expect... and I'm not scared anymore. They took such good care of me, I know we will be in good hands!!! : )
So Brody may be coming sooner than we all thought!!!
P.S.-Billy was so cute and so funny through out the whole thing! He was just so excited!! He kept begging me to send a mass text out telling everyone I was in the hospital. But I kept telling him to wait untill we knew we were for sure going to be staying there! But he was so happy and was so helpful and took such good care of me. I feel so lucky to have him!!!
